Political Contributor, CBS
Bob Schieffer retired in 2015 after 24 years as moderator of Face the Nation and 46 years as a CBS News Correspondent. He covered John McCain throughout his days in Washington, including many of his record 112 appearances on Face the Nation. He was the winner of virtually every award in broadcast journalism including eight Emmys and is the author of five books. He still does occasional pieces for CBS News. He is one of few reporters who have covered all four major Washington beats—Congress, the White House, State department and the Pentagon. John McCain called him one of the “old geezers.” They were months apart in age.
